Ross Stewart Cements Progress with Fall From Grace Single Release
Fall From Grace
Latest release by Ross Stewart
New Single launches 29th May 2025
Two things to get your teeth into straight away with Ross Stewart's new single Fall From Grace: it’s another great, bouncy tune; you get to bask in the sheer joy of a needle-sharp Stewart rock guitar solo that is hard as diamonds. It is the kind of guitar solo you feared might be lost in the Digital Age, but here it is, a solo that makes you want to unpack an air guitar and spin round the room, eyes squeezed tight shut.
Lyrically, Ross Stewart continues to explore his growing awareness of emotions, life and the kind of mistakes that can seem catastrophic early in adult life. His latest song poses the question Is it a fall from grace, or is it just getting older? The song ends with a cry for help for the over-whelmed voice, I’m drowning, I’m drowning. There is no attempt to push trite answers.
The power of the vocal delivery is instantly recognisable as Stewart’s, but for those who have not seen him play live, the clarity and drive of his rock guitar come across beautifully in this release. The band are really tight, with the organ of Andy Cooper adding rich texture to the driving tempo laid down by drummer Jon Moore and bassist Joe Schollar.
Recorded at Spin Studios and produced by Jon Moore, this single sits perfectly alongside Stewart's earlier releases, the wonderful, acoustic-based Tangerine Sky being the previous single. Here is that song's official video.
At 4’13” longFall From Grace builds beautifully, carrying the listener every beat of the way to its somewhat surprising finish. I wanted it to go on longer, but just had to play it again (and again).
There is so much more to come from Stewart. There will be another song out soon after Fall From Grace and more music is promised within the year, while the man continues to write, perform and record; he is on a mission!
I’ll keep this brief, Fall From Grace is a belting single! Add it to your playlist, library, or whatever you do with music these days. Personally, I cannot wait to hear this performed live somewhere soon!
