The band burst onto the music scene in 1978, on the final crest of the Punk / New Wave wave in the late 1970s. Billy is the band's drummer and in the middle of August of this stiflingly hot summer, I had the pleasure of chatting to him about life with his friends in the band, in advance of The Undertones' 50th Anniversary Tour which continues its British leg on 15th October, 2026 at Epic Studios in Norwich .
